Child Care Networks, Inc. was founded in 1984, providing child care resource and referral services for Orange County. In 1989, services began in Chatham County, and in 1996 we began focusing exclusively on Chatham County. We are accredited by the North Carolina Child Care Resource and Referral Network

1984Basic and Corporate Referral Services
Extensive database of child care options, counseling about choosing child care, information about child care centers, family child care homes or care in your home, listings of summer and after-school care. Corporations such as IBM and AT&T purchased additional referral services for their employees.

1986Technical Assistance
Recruitment of family child care providers, information about state registration and licensing, support to family child care providers and centers. Quarterly provider newsletter.

1988Food Program
Child and Adult Care Food Program, monthly reimbursements for meals and snacks served, nutrition related workshops, and provider visits.

1990Expanded Referral Services
Basic referral service plus referrals to confirmed child care openings, referrals to other human service agencies

1991Financial Assistance Program
Confidential interviews to determine eligibility, financial assistance for child care, ongoing contact with families

1992Provider Services Program
Upgrading to higher standards of quality, monthly newsletter, resource library featuring activity kits, training videos and books on child development and other subjects, training information

1994Latino Program
Bilingual and bicultural staff to serve our Latino/Hispanic population
